Marina Shipova Photographic Exhibit on Display at the Sequim Civic Center

Wednesday, November 17, 2021

A photographic exhibit portraying favorite story photographs of the Olympic Peninsula by Marina Shipova is on display now through January 2022 in the Karen Kuznek-Reese Gallery at the Sequim Civic Center, 152 West Cedar Street. Civic Center hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The exhibit includes a digital presentation of Shipova’s work on a big screen that can be viewed through the window of the Civic Center at any time.

Shipova was selected as the Artist Fellow for the Sequim Understory Project, a placemaking program that will result in the design of Centennial Place at the corner of Sequim Avenue and Washington Street. Her work is one of the community engagement components of the project.

Shipova will be outside the Civic Center on Saturday, November 27 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. as a part of the Art Beat event during Hometown Holidays. Limited copies of her book “The Olympic Peninsula” will be available for purchase for the non-profit price of $25. Cash and checks will be the only accepted form of payment. Please make out checks to the City of Sequim.  Any remaining books after November 27 will be available for purchase at the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Visitor Information Center located at 192 East Washington Street.

For more information on Shipova, please visit https://www.sequimcityarts.com/ or contact Marketing Coordinator Patsene Dashiell at (360) 681-3421 or pdashiell@sequimwa.gov.
